The most iconic landmark of Los Angeles is the Hollywood sign; and it is a must see for any traveler passing through LA. It might take a few minutes to get through some popular places where you can see the sign, but it is worth the visit.
1) The Hollywood & Highland Center – Located in the heart of Hollywood, this shopping complex is right in the middle of the attractions. The complex is next to the famous Chinese Theater and the Walk of Fame. There are connecting bridges on the top northeast level of the shopping complex where you have a view of the sign. This can be easily reach by using the Red Line Metro Rail.
2) Griffith Observatory – Not only you get an unobstructed view of the Hollywood sign, you also get a panoramic view of the city. This observatory is famous tourist spot day and night.
3) Lake Hollywood Park – This is only accessible by car but it’s worth the visit. Located in the middle of the residential community in Hollywood Hills. It provides a close and clear view of the Hollywood Sign.
4) Hike it – this is one is for the adventurous traveler. You will have to use your car to get to the north-end of N Beachwood Drive and the hike will take about 30 – 45 minutes. Although the trail is open for public, there’s a huge gate (which is usually always open) and a private guard in the entrance to thwarts tourist alike (don’t be scared, they can’t stop you from hiking it).
