Historical Significance

Much of the charm of The Mayfair Hotel LA comes from its’ rich past. Our Los Angeles hotel played host to the first post Academy Awards party in 1929. Raymond Chandler, a prominent writer of the 20th century, wrote his 1939 short story “I’ll Be Waiting,” set at the hotel. The Mayfair Hotel has also made an appearance in Hollywood blockbusters such as “War of the Worlds,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” “True Lies” and television series “Weeds,” “Criminal Minds” and “MacGyver.”
